Keep Track of the Chord Changes Over Major and Minor Chords
Pointer Finger
As a song goes back and forth over major and minor chords, use pointer finger on high E string to set your notes.
- So if the song is on a G major chord, first finger will land on third fret of low E then you can solo with the first position Major Pentatonic notes.
- If the song is on an A minor chord, first finger will land on fifth fret of the low E then you can solo with the first position Minor Pentatonic notes.
Then, focus on just the part of the scale in the red box/circle.
NO BENDING of the Chord Tones. Chord tones are the shape of the chord when played.
